Handmade from European Oak, using natural and fumed oak veneer to display, through contrast, the very particular beauty of this wood. The making process has many steps: gluing up, cutting, gluing up again and re-cutting.
High levels of precision are required to ensure that every face, with mitred corners, lines up to give the illusion that the sleeve is hewn from a solid block. Further precision is required to ensure a snug fit for the enclosed matchbox.
The striker and finger hole are carved out and then hand finished using a chisel. The sleeve is hand-finished with a hard wax oil to further enhance its beauty.
Handmade in London.
Each matchbox sleeve includes 3 matchbox refills.

Care Instructions
Loves to be dusted, but please do not polish. Avoid oils, because even though the hard wax finish provides some protection, the end grain remains naturally absorbent.
